David Leonard Farris, 83, of Berryville, formerly of Leesburg, died July 4 at home.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Enders and Shirley Funeral Home of Berryville. Burial will be private.

Mr. Farris was born April 21, 1925, in Oatlands to the late Matthew E. and Myrtle Phillips Farris. He lived in Loudoun County all his life until 2006. He was a farmer and a Jehovah's Witness.

Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Farris; three daughters, Sarah Underwood, Peggy Fleming and Cindy Iwersen, all of Bluemont; three sons, Dennis Farris of Hamilton, Jeffrey Farris of Winchester, and Mark Farris of Reliance, Tenn.; five sisters, Hazel Lemon, Mary Morrison, Marie Moore, Mandy Baun and Nancy Edwards; four brothers, Matthew Farris Jr., Claude Farris, Charles Farris and Fred Farris; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
