Obituary

Irving B. Frye

Died July 5, 2008
 Painter, Lucketts

 

Irving Berkley Frye, 87, of Lucketts, died July 5 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Leesburg.

The funeral service will be July 9 at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, with burial following at Leesburg Union Cemetery.

Mr. Frye was born March 27, 1921, in Lucketts to the late Ode and Virgie Frye.

He was a painter. In the 1960s, he managed the Lucketts baseball team, which won the 1964 Heart of Maryland League championship.

Mr. Frye was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bernadine Frye, and his son, Berkley Frye.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie McDonald of Leesburg and Mary Kay Graham of Purcellville; two brothers, Jimmy Frye and Kenny Frye; six sisters, Marie Lawson, Goldie Bates, Arbutus Frye, Violet Frye, Francis Austin and Helen Frye; a special friend, Mary Hearn; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
