South Riding
Night Out, a concert and a dive-in movieBy Cheryl Bacak
Night Out: Mark your calendars! Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m. is National Night Out. National Night Out is an opportunity to bring law enforcement and citizens together to heighten crime-and-drug-prevention awareness; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; as well as to generate community support for anti-crime programs. Encourage your family and neighbors to participate by walking to the town green and supporting this important event. An ice cream social along with various kid- oriented activities and child ID kits will be available. For more information on this free event, contact the Neighborhood Watch committee at neighborhoodwatch@southriding.net.
Concert: The summer concert series continues Friday night, 7-9 p.m., with Trio Caliente. This group combines various musical elements from traditional and modern Latin music with a contemporary twist. Bring your neighbors to the town green for another great free concert.
Dive-in movie: Saturday night, bring the kids to South Riding Center pool for a dive-in movie. Enjoy “Enchanted” starting around 8:30 p.m. Bring your favorite flotation device and enjoy the film. A valid pool pass is needed for entry to this free event. For more information on the concert or the movie, contact the events desk at 703-327-4390 or events@southriding.net.
