Class Acts

The following is a list of ongoing classes in Loudoun County: Art - Cartoon workshop: Jan Watkins, a professional cartoonist, teaches children how to create cartoon strips and develop humorous characters.

Watkins has been published in National Geographic magazine, corporate brochures and other publications in New York, Boston and Washington, D.C. She has taught cartooning in Reston, Oakton and Herndon for four years.

The workshops are offered at Frying Pan Park Aug. 12-13, and NOVA, Loudoun campus, on Aug. 19, 20 and 21.

Round Hill Arts Center: The Round Hill Arts Center, 6. W. Loudoun St., announces the following classes:

  • Second Saturdays Figure Sessions, Aug. 9, Sept. 13, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Bring own materials (paints, drawing, clay); work from the live model; Preregister for one session: $12/session; drop-ins $14/session

  • Beginner through advanced pottery classes .
