Loudoun Valley teacher makes hall of fame

Martha Akers, a photojournalism teacher at Loudoun Valley High School is one of 11 people selected to the Virginia High School Hall of Fame's Class of 2008.

The Class of 2008 also includes three athletes, four coaches and three contributors (which Akers is considered) from around the state.

This brings the total number of people honored in the Hall of Fame to 198.

Sponsored jointly by the Virginia High School League and the Virginia High School Coaches Association, the hall is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of outstnading achievements by students and adults in sports and activities within Virginia's public high schools.

The Hall of Fame induction dinner will be held Oct. 27 in Charlottesville.
