Bruce is loose

A source with knowledge of the subject has informed me that Bruce Bornarth, assistant track coach at Park View and all-around good Patriot, will serve as the backup radio broadcaster and backup public address announcer for the Frederick Keys, the Orioles' Single-A Carolina League affiliate.

I've worked with Bruce for two separate local media outlets, and his announcing skills are polished and idiosyncratic.  He's the master of overmodulation, but that's part of his intrigue as a broadcaster -- that, and his encyclopedic knowledge of local sports history and his occasional faux pas with the younger set -- GP, Half-Court, Technical Mitch, y'all know.

I know his desire to broadcast -- I caught the bug myself, quite unexpectedly, and to this day I remain in radio professionally and want to return to on-air broadcasting meeself, and land such a gig.

(He also has a show for a sports talker out of Charlottesville.)

Good on ya, Brucey B.
