Stone Bridge RHP Ty Weaver

I've been jonesin' for some hardball, and finally the games have arrived.

I caught a few innings of Tuesday's scrimmage at Stone Bridge with Centreville.  Ty Weaver threw the first couple of innings, giving up only a dribbler and a bunt as hits and collecting several Ks.  Word is that he's getting some college looks.

I can see why.  He's tall and wiry, Randy Johnson-esque in build, but has a strikingly smooth delivery for a tall guy -- he might want to add an elbow or a knee to his motion just to give the batter something else to look at.  He sat around 83 but touched 88, but impressed me with his hard curve for strikes.  That will get out a lot of hitters at this level, as it did last night.

Velocity should come as he physically matures.  He's one to pay attention to as the season progresses.
